    #41 - Metroid Prime (Wii)

I'd beaten the game before but never went back for the 100%. Great game, I think everything that needs to be said about this game has been said already. Now on to Prime 2!

Beaten with all endings. Aside from the horrendous bugginess of it all, the game was quite good. I sincerely hope they patch this, because as it is, it's simply inexcusable. I couldn't sit down to play once without it locking up on me, and the characters falling through or getting stuck in the environment, companions disappearing when I exit a location (only to reappear randomly later on), etc. was just too much.

Finished on the Data East Arcade Classics set for Wii. Not a bad game, but definitely a quarter cruncher. It doesn't hold a candle to Capcom's D&D games.

Big patch came out yesterday, at least for PC.

  5. I finished Castlevania Lords of Shadow. I both liked it and disliked it at the same time. Don't know how I truly feel about it, though. Got to think about it a little.

This is so bad. SO bad. Probably the worst controlling platformer in over a decade. Hated every minute.
Pretty much my feelings as well. It was like if they made Virtua Fighter a platformer. I loved everything else about the game, except the control. Which unfortunately, is a big no no.

  7. I don't think they're fixing it for the sequel either since it needs to be compatible with levels from the first game. Shame.

    31. Heavenly Sword - PS3

Underrated and fantastic. Best cinemas in the industry (graphics, motion capture, voice acting, direction, dignity). Closest to film quality I've seen. SquareEnix could learn so much. I can only imagine this looks and sounds as incredible as it does (still) because Sony threw ungodly amounts of money at it as the PS3 showcase game.

So glad they let you turn off the Six-axis nonsense. That would have been a game-breaker right there.

Anna Torv of J.J. Abrams' Fringe does Nariko. Kai steals the show, though, as everyone knows. The ending sets things up for a Kai-starring sequel, but alas, this will almost surely never be.

  8. I get why people complain about the LBP controls, but I think if you come to embrace the chaos of the physics it works well. You're supposed to flop around and bounce into crap a little bit, and I can't remember any parts of it that were difficult enough for the lack of precision to really hurt the game. It has a Jackass quality that adds to the charm. I especially liked the grab-and-swing-wildly mechanic a lot.

  9. We played it a few times at the studio, I didn't like the controls one bit. Everybody coming from Smash Bros LOVED it, though, so it definitely has an audience.

"Jackass quality" is an oxymoron. I am not at all surprised that the Smash Bros. crowd likes LBP.
