4. Bioshock 2
Liked it a lot more than the first game but they both have a VERY repetitive feel to them. Got the good ending with saving everybody. No desire to go back to it.
And then he explodes and it says, "THE END?" and shows his ghost in the sky winking and giving a thumbs up.

This cost me $4, I feel kind of gipped. The game drones on for 6 levels, recycles ALL the bosses, and then makes you play through all the stages again in reverse, bosses and all. The best part? The ending! Black screen with "GAME OVER!"
Trade-in fodder.

Awesome game that really makes me miss the Sega of old. I've been playing the shit out of it lately, and I will keep going back. More of this, Sega!
14. Splinter Cell - Chaos Theory
too similar to the original. Alright, but not good enough to prevent it from getting boring near the end.
Assassin's Creed 2.
Ugh. Amazing graphics and setting ruined by absolutely terrible controls and a horse shit story (though I do like the sci fi framework, it turned to total crap at the end). Plus, why put in the stronghold when I can max it out halfway through? All too easy overall, too easy to evade, too easy to fight, too easy to get money, etc.
Overall, a much much much better game than the first but still a huge disappointment.

Too bad about the story of AC2, I wanted to see where it went after the first.
2. New Super Mario Bros Wii - finally finished this up today, good stuff. Only took me until May to complete a whole two games!
The main AC2 story, in Italy, was just an endless parade of random Italian guys doing who the fuck knows what. It was dumb but not horrible. But once it got kind of neat, literally right when I was like, "okay this is cool", it turned into Matrix 2 style shit and got worse from there. The last half hour or so was a fucking disaster of epic proportions.
Truth is though even if the story was awesome, it wouldn't have been worth the slog. The game really was not good.
15. Splinter Cell - Conviction
For a finish and forget (definitely rental) kinda game, this was actually pretty high up there. Uncharted 2 ballpark, maybe.
Afro Samurai (360). I liked it - very nice artwork/graphics and lots of slicing & dicing. Has problematic platform elements but they aren't THAT big a deal like some of the reviews might have you believe. Worth it on the cheap or for a weekend rental.
