I was away so it has taken me a while to respond. It's nice to see you're liking The Dragon's Trap. It was tricky but I found that thread - http://www.the-nextlevel.com/tnl/thr...-Master-System I'll look for threads on other systems later if the search function doesn't get fixed. If you're interested in classic computer gaming, I would recommend starting with the Commodore 64 and games like Montezuma's Revenge, Archon, The Last Ninja 1 and 2, M.U.L.E., International Karate series, Bruce Lee, California Games, Space Taxi to get a feel for the era.

Finished the career mode. I only have the other championships to finish up. Great game, but the truck races were way too slow to be fun. More buggys please!

21. Wonder Boy III - The Dragon's Trap



The best Metroidvania, I think. You gain new abilities, and you can get gear that does different stuff, but you can never really be overlevelled. Even with the best gear, the stages (and a couple of the bosses) can put up a decent fight. The exploration felt just right; there were definitely a handful of a-has at finding certain routes. Really cute game, too.

#12 Super Mario Galaxy 2. Close enough, at least. I got 120 stars, I'm good with it. I'll probably re-beat Bowser just to unlock the green stars, but can't say I care enough to chase after them. Still, I enjoyed my playthrough even if the last 20 stars were me being bullheaded about not quitting this close to completion.

The other reason I'm done is that Deathsmiles, Sin & Punishment 2, and (next week) Crackdown 2 are wanting attention. Green stars or Deathsmiles? Not a hard choice.

I've never played a Wonder Boy game but now that it is has been described as a Metroidvania, I might give it a go. Do I bother with the first two or jump right into the third??

I'm good with that. I mean, I'm sure it's a great challenge and all, but that's still another 120 stars to see it. I want to do something else now.

Plus I hear it shows your death count if you get all 240+ stars, and I'm not sure the Wii can generate numbers that big.

Red Dead Redemption (before the 360 died, which I have now replaced with the new 360). I liked the game, I just wish some of it (cattle herding, for example) was optional, and not mandatory, through the main story quests. I liked the story but really dislike "fetch quests" for achievement points. Overall: 8/10.
