What's that black thing under your name? The one with better visuals than the Wii and a better d-pad than the 360?
No, I seriously bought it on Wii because I had the points and didn't feel like fucking with the 360's d-pad for Sonic 4.
On that note, beat Sonic 4 with all Chaos Emeralds.

Steam.
46. Ys Seven
Beat it on Normal after 31 hours. Did just about all the quests I could before overpowering the final boss with a mix of really damaging Dragon skills. I don't want to overhype this for anyone curious, but I think this just might be my sleeper hit of the year. It's incredibly fun, fast-paced and the dungeons are straightforward, no-nonsense fights. Tons of action and the characters are all pretty interesting (save Dogi). What's the most addicting of Ys Seven is the skills you learn through your weapons. You only need to level a skill once and after that its yours for the keeping and you don't need to use the weapon it was imbued in to trigger it again. So you spend a lot of your time browsing shops to find weapons (weak or strong) with skills you haven't mastered yet.
It also had a pretty good Pierce/Bash/Slice triangle towards how to attack enemies which kept things interesting. And as usual, the Falcom jdk band composes some pretty sweet tracks.
Maybe once the Holiday rush passes I'll replay it on Nightmare. Serious, serious fun.
Metroid: Other M (Wii)- About what I expected from Team Ninja, great action and dumb-dumb exploration. Surprisingly I did not mind the controls, guess I'm in the minority there. The storyline on the other hand, cripes I understand limiting Samus with weapons of mass destruction but the frickin Varia? Say what you will about Prime but Retro treated the character with respect, this is more a sci-fi version of The Secretary.
Super Air Zonk (Super CD via Virtual Console)- I remember wishing I'd picked this up before the last few Turbo Duo releases climbed over a $100. Bullet dodged. Air Zonk was a great game, very broken for a shooter but thoroughly strange, colorful, and very unique . This on the other hand looks flat and uninspired, the CD soundtrack pales to the chiptunes original, not to mention complete lack of challenge.
Shantae: Risky's Revenge (DSiware)- A marked improvement in every way from the GBC original and easily the best game on DSiware. Alot of love went into this, the spritework took me back to the early 32 bit era and gasping at Metal Slug, Astal, and Keio 2. Maybe that's a bit far but it's very pretty. The scripting is disturbing for such a cartoony game (much like Shantae's idle animation), make sure to say "no" to the chef chick when returning her dog. One minor complaint, a dungeon map like Phantom Hourglass would have been nice.
9. ExciteBots Trick Racing (Wii) - didn't really enjoy this very much but I finished it since it took very little time to do so.
#31) Doom II (PC)
Finished it on Ultra-Violence, using Doomsday Engine with 2D sprites and bilinear filtering. I kinda gave up on the 3D models.
The final boss actually ain't shit. Three rockets = GOODBYE. Just use the BFG to keep the other monsters in check.
Anyway, Doom II has one thing that Doom 3 missed: LOADS of monsters at one time, especially on the UV difficulty.

Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)
Blade Kitten (PC)
A decent Strider-ish platformer, a good value at $10. Some issues keep it from comparing with the classics of the genre. It's way too easy due to weak enemies and lack of pits to fall in. Just because you play as a catwoman that's no excuse for the difficulty to be set on pussy. Also, the controls are too floaty and feel slightly delayed.
