Thread: TNL Pub 2010

  1. Just enjoyed an awesome Creme Brulee stout today. Had most of it myself. I was surprised by the vanilla aroma, it was stronger than I expected, but very nice. It was sweet but a little bitter at the same time, was a very interesting experience. I'm gonna have to order more of them.

  2. Anyone own one of those wine coolers for storage? I started looking at them to keep my beer from clogging up the fridge but it sounds like the cheap ones are all crap and break after a year or two.

  3. So then get a moderately priced one. Don't think of it as a splurge think of it as an investment. A buddy of mine has one and honestly it's the best thing ever. I want one myself but I have much less space living in NY and all.

  4. But my roommate almost NEVER buys groceries so I have the vast majority of the fridge to myself anyway.

My parents keep their large bottle beers in a wine fridge. They seem to dig it.

  6. What brand is your buddy's? It sounds like the good ones are $500+, which I am not going to spend.

(my kitchen gets to 90+ degrees during the day in summer when no one is home. It's miserable and i fear for my beers on the shelf.)

What temperature do you think it gets to in one of the delivery trucks in the middle of the day in August?

    Just saying...

  8. So you're saying you don't think it makes much difference? I can't say I am sure I have detected anything so far, but the bottles I am really interested in saving I haven't opened yet. Most of my beer doesn't sit too long. High temps occasionally in a truck are different than constantly temperature cycling between 60->90+ all the time.

I'm saying I don't really know. I've heard "extreme" temperature changes can ruin a beer, but I don't really even know what "extreme" means. The internet isn't very helpful with this question...

Also: the beer in that bottle isn't cycling temperature as drastically as the air in the room.
