has anyone else had this stone's vertical epic this year? as a beer and wine lover i have to say i wasnt impressed. its a belgian with gewurztraimner, sauvignon blanc and muscat grape juice from a local winery. they havent been coming up with many new great ideas there at stone.

I've tried '08 and '09 Vertical Epic and never thought too much of it either way. Good but not great or memorable. Is this a huge fall off?

Sure! If it doesn't turn into vinegar. Right now it's in the final stages, gotta let it carbonize, and hopefully it won't explode and spill cider everywhere in my basement. Then gotta let it mature for minimum 1-2 months. I'll post again when I get to drink it.

Since now I have all the equipment, I'll be brewing more often, but I dunno if I'll be starting from scratch like this batch. I might just buy some apple juice from the store, instead of juicing 120 pounds of apples, that shit was alot of work.

Went to a museum's science and history of beer making. It was pretty awesome, after Christmas I'm getting my brewing kit and starting to make my own beer.

It can? IIRC the abv is 12% You can lie that down for somewhere in the neighborhood of seven or eight years. Even more if it was bottle conditioned.

I got 3 Vertical Epic 10's yesterday, haven't opened one yet. fwiw I loved 09 but didn't care for 08. I heard good things about 10 so far from others.
