  2. Tried Southern Tier Backburner the other night. It was putrid. Had to force the rest of the bottle down. Bad batch maybe?

  3. Or poorly stored / shipped. I've seen too many beer stores that stock their shit right in the sun. Unacceptable.

  4. You'd think they would know better.

  6. My brew went crazy overnight and blew up. There was beer on the ceiling and I found the lid on the other side of the room. It's been foaming over all day so I stuck it in the bathtub. Pic!

  7. Rad! You could use some plastic/rubber hosing and a jug of water to avoid this in the future ;-)

  8. Roommate snagged me some Harpoon IPA while she was in NC. S'ok, thought that counts, and all that.

Must be, this is a pretty solid beer.

  9. Ended up riding my bike to Dry Dock's brewery, a good brewery in Denver I expect you'll see some of their shit nationally within the next couple of years.

They had a nice sour beer that was apparently a complete accident with their barrels trying to make an amber ale. It was very smooth, pretty easy to drink.

It just came out - I doubt storage was an issue. More likely, it's the nature of the style (barleywine) that's much, much better to let sit for a couple of years. Barleywines are difficult to pull off to begin with, much harder if you're drinking it without letting it age.
