Going to drink the bottle of Wrath of Pecan josh picked up for me this weekend in celebration of my birthday. And then I am going to go see Kick-Ass at a movie theater that has couches, is 21 and over and has an awesome bar.
    Thanks for the heads up!

So I just found a bottle of Goose Island's Matilda at a restaurant. It is their first Belgian style ale that I have tried, Matilda being their version of a Belgian style pale ale. And it was fucking amazing. The yeast was good and funky, but this was more sweet and sour than your average IPA. Almost like a lambic. There was very little head on the beer, but it was actually quite bubbly. The color was a nice sunset paly orange (seriously, the prettiest beer I think I have ever had). This was a 2010, and like yours, I really saw where it could have grown from some aging.

I think Immort Ale is out now, but I can't fucking find it anywhere. Anyone seen any? I'm not going to miss it this year.

Cuz everyone else is doing it:

    Barely any head.

    Smells like fucking ass.

Doesn't taste as sweet as you'd imagine something with vanilla, cinnamon, and figs would, but goddamn is it good.

Quite drinkable and does a damn good job at masking the 8.3% ABV.

You want me to look next time I go to store?

Yeah, let me know. I'm going to the grail of beer stores tomorrow daytime, maybe it'll be there. Dogfish is also releasing "My Antonia" this month for the first time. Its an Imperial Pilsner. I've not had a Pilsner that has impressed me yet, so I am curious about this one for sure.

Can you do me a favor and look for Kronenbourg Blanc while you're there? I've yet to find it in the states.

    Deal.

  9. So far, I've only been able to get one case of Immort Ale. Very expensive stuff.

Lest anyone actually waste a trip, they just ran out. They did have it last time I was there, and they still have all the other ones, though. I grabbed some Mokah, and also a Stone Smoked Porter.
