Thread: The Dead Thread

  1. Gordie Howe. 88.

Losing him and Ali so close together is just ridiculous and far outweighs all of the musical deaths this year in terms of historical importance. It would be like losing Mozart and Elvis a week apart.

    This so much.

  6. A lot of people like music more than sports and the ones who died were young compared to these two. I mean if you would have asked me I would have thought Gordie Howe died years ago.

Lol sports are more important than music

  8. lol Musician feels otherwise.

  9. #2349
It has nothing to do with which is more important. It has to do with the status of the deceased within their sphere of influence. No musician that has died this year was an Ali to boxing or a Howe to hockey, despite their talents.

edit: Some of that is a result of music having a lot longer history than at least modern sports.

  10. Bowie begs to differ.
Yes I understand I'm a fanboy, but he made DIFFERENT music for 49 years.
27 Studio Albums, 9 Live Albums, starred in movies, games and started a fucking ISP, but he's not important.
