In the market for a cheap laptop

Looking for something in the ~$400 range. Would prefer a 15-16" screen, although i'll consider 11-12" if it drops the price.

I'm not looking for anything special, just something solid and dependable-- I have no intention of gaming on it. It's primarily for poker, web browsing and media.

I was considering this when it was at the $350-400 range, but it's now jumpd to $450. Will wait for another sale unless you guys find me something better or tell me this sucks:

Anybody who finds me a computer worth buying under $400 will have my gratitude!

  2. Does it have to be new? Ebay, dude.

    wow cool thanks

that really tells me if a laptop is worth the price or not!

  5. check out slickdeals.net, there seems to be a cheap laptop every other day or so and people discuss if it is good/not.

  6. why not a Netbook, if all you're doing is media, poker, and web browsing.

    Do they make 15.4" netbooks?

The bigger the screen the better for movies and for multitabling poker.

  8. Because Netbooks are trash if you want to do more than one thing.

  9. That's not all together true Thief.

My roommate has an Asus Netbook and from October to December I was posting on TNL, checking Facebook, updating my movie blog, and checking youtube vids. It can multitask and do things well.
