The more you get your hopes up the more it will hurt when Konami lets you down. Don't set yourself up for that Yosh.
Various sites are reporting Siliconera's discovery of Konami's new trademark, Harmony of Despair. The obvious consensus is that its the title of a new Castlevania game, likely a sequel to 2002's Harmony of Dissonance. Once you get past that though, it is all speculation.
PSP seems to be the "in" platform for development in Japan, and Konami just sent Peace Walker there, so that trend may continue here. However, I am hoping the platform is hidden in the acronym, much like Dawn of Sorrow. That would make the 360 and PS3 the likely targets. Perhaps this is an XBLA/PSN HD 2D sequel? Fingers, toes, etc. crossed, even if it won't be the action game the series should never have abandoned.

I am so swamped that one less game wouldn't be a big deal. But if the best case scenario comes to pass, this would jump way up my most wanted list obviously.
You're setting yourself up for being wrong. 90% chance this is for the DS.
Then the game won't exist to me, so there was no point in speculating in that direction.
I know you guys usually hate Igarashi, but I really loved those last DS games (less so for Portrait of Ruin, though). If this was something of the same vain, but on the PSP, I think it'd be pretty rad. Playing SOTN on the PSP from Chronicles isn't really the same.
I played the shit out of Symphony of the Night and all of the GBA Castlevania games, but the DS games couldn't hold my interest long enough for me to finish them.
If this does turn out to be a new Castlevania, then I hope it changes up the formula a lot more than the last few games have.
This is a DS game. Now you can forget it existed and if I'm wrong (I'm not), you will be pleasantly surprised.
