Why would you want to do anything on your phone other than talk?
I hear about this Netflix app, and my thoughts are "my battery" and "why do I want to watch a movie on my telephone".

As minimalist as Yeller is, I would have no trouble believing that keeping an extra power supply on hand would kill him.
I'm thinking of getting an android phone. Leaning towards one of the new ones that can be docked with a laptop shell or doc connected to a monitor and keyboard.
has anyone read anything lately saying I should avoid this phone?

From what you've described, it sounds like the Motorola Atrix. If you're into modding at all, it's not the phone you want because Motorola has gone through great lengths to lock it. But if you don't care about that stuff, it's the best-performing Android phone on the market right now (from what I've read).
I watch movies on my phone when I'm "doing" sound. Deal with it.Because it is no longer 1998, and progress marches on.
Maybe I won't!
This does remind me, I had wanted to start ripping audio commentaries to MP3... but got lazy and did not. Has anybody actually done this on a large scale and put it out there? Would be good for Netflix watching purposes, also...
