  2. "No self control" sure sounds like me, although I'll definitely be keeping it...at least long enough to have more than made my money back in review games. By that time, I'm sure the 3DSiXL+1 will be out.

    I tried out a few regular DS games on the thing, and got mixed results. Some games look fine, some look like crap, pretty much all of them are better played on a Lite or later DS. Out of the ones I've tried Space Invaders Extreme looked good, Phoenix Wright and Spirit Tracks looked okay, and Dragon Quest V looked like ass.

    I am wondering, does anyone have Mario 64 DS to try on it? I never got it since it was pretty much uncontrollable, but it may work better on the 3DS's analog slider since you can actually hit the diagonals now. On the other hand it may still suck since it's still not analog.

    No, those impressions were with the screens stretched. If you play them in native resolution they all look great, just very small, like playing on a dual screen GBA Micro. I'd imagine that games that require the stylus will be difficult in tiny mode, but RPGs and action games would be fine.

    I'd imagine that 99% of the population really wouldn't give a shit though. Even the blurry "looks like shit" mode isn't really that bad, and I'd still rather play DS games on a 3DS than on the original DS Phat.

  8. I just was a Kmart for some household things and I took a stroll over to the games section to see if they had any systems left. They had 9 of them sitting there on the shelf just waiting for me to buy one. I considered it for a moment but then just walked away. I really want to wait for the inevitable redesign but I'm sure once games start coming out that I really love (Mario Kart) I will more than likely cave in a grab one. I would probably would have caved already if they had their shit together for getting DSi games you've downloaded onto your 3DS.

    Aha. I hadn't tried the holding Select/Start yet either. I'd rather have them upscaled than be tinier frankly. Contra 4 looked good. I haven't tried anything else yet. I only have a few DS games.

  10. Don't they have an upscaled but not stretched option? Or was that just way too much effort for them to include.
