Launch isn't as terrible as publicized. These three games are worth owning. I'll also pick up Pilotwings and Street Fighter at some point. I have not tried playing DS games on this yet.
DS games look pretty brutal scaled up and are tiny in 1:1 mode. Not getting rid of my DS lite, that's for sure. I'm loving RR - told that this might have to do with the fact that I haven't played RR6 or 7, but I'm having a great time with it. Nintendogs is super cute but if you're the kind of person who got nothing out of the original there's nothing here for you either... unless you just wanted cats. While I'm not exactly a huge SF4 fan I kind of want to try it out. I'm really impressed with the system so far, though it's been more "goofing around" than "compelling gameplay" so far. It's just a really cool toy. Baffled with the friends list though - Nintendo seems close to getting it right. One friend code, you can see your friends online and what they're doing... but that's it. No way to message them or get their Miis or anything like that. Stupid. Not surprising but stupid anyway.
Curious to see if StreetPass gets anything on my commute tomorrow, haven't taken this thing out yet.

Don't even have any online games yet; probably will get SSF4 once I get the credit for buying the system from Amazon. It's actually a replacement for my DS as I had my old DS stolen about a year ago. Did try playing Etrian Odyssey 3 and the new Pokemon on it and it looks fine, in my opinion.
lol the battery just died in the time it took to write this, ffffffffffff
Semi-NSFW. (Panty shots and such.) Some 3D idol photos you can download and copy onto your 3DS's SDCard. The 3D effect is very pronounced in some of these pics. The first one with the bubbles takes a few seconds of staring (at the bubbles, specifically -- I was looking at the girl for a while and not much was happening), but when it pops, wow!
I played The Legendary Starfy on the 3DS. Upscaling looks about how you'd expect when upscaling any content on an LCD -- that is to say, not so hot. It gets the job done I suppose, but I could only take a couple minutes before I had to switch to original size... which is kinda small as reported, but crisp! Looks great actually. Unfortunately I'm not feeling the 3DS's +Control Pad, at least not yet. So I'll be sticking with my DS for DS games. (Although ...Starfy did recognize the nub. Still, didn't feel right.)
The Face Raiders app is pretty damn neat.
There are definitely recycled tracks from the PSP, 360, and PS3 games, but it's been so long, I don't even mind. Despite being a lot older and not designed specifically for it, Burnout Paradise is still the most impressive game I have in 3D on my PC, so I'm not surprise Ridge Racer works well. Racing is the best show piece I have found, and more urban tracks (as opposed to Hot Pursuit) work even better.
Uh, oh. There's a system update today. Batten down the hatches for Hero tears!
My wife had no issue with me spending a big chunk of cash on a new system and a ton of games, as I am a Nintendo whore and a new system doesn't come out every day. However, she took incredible exception to the fact that aqua is her favorite color, and I got the black 3DS and a black case (which was also available in aqua.) Silly females.
So how the hell are you supposed to fight your friends in SF4 on this thing? I had friends playing SF4 last night, but as far as I can tell there is no way of messaging them within the 3DS itself. You can set up friend only rooms in the game but you have no way of inviting anyone to join you. We may have to set up a TNL SF4 night where everyone can beat the shit out of me sometime.
