I keep a file with all the games I'm mildly interested in, so that's what I used. I know I won't end up playing all of them. Missing is the color coding I use for preorder, buy on sale, buy on clearance, and get used from Goozex or rent.

Not to mention it's padded with crap like Assassin's Creed: How Far Can We Stretch This and Dead Rising 2: $60 More For a Different Character Model Edition.

You're going to call out sequels and minor updates when the 3DS lineup is a remake of Star Fox 64, Mario Kart 7, and the fourth entry in the Mario Land sub-series?

I'm not claiming the two you mentioned are high on my list (both colored for clearance in fact), but come on...

I'll get Saints Row because it's awesome, and UMVC3 because I enjoy being violated by Capcom. Battlefield 3 if it's not a buggy turd (it will be). Rage if it's good (it won't be). There's no possible way I could be less interested in Skyrim, Batman or Uncharted.

Super Mario 3D is a definite buy. Mario Kart & Star Fox, not really.

You'll note I didn't include Star Fox in my list earlier for that very reason - a great game it is, but also a barely-improved port. And clearly I don't have a problem with sequels in general, but this is the third Assassin's game in as many years. That's never a sign of quality.

I did indeed notice that. And I'm not defending Assassin's Creed. I haven't even played II yet. But I tried to include a fairly well rounded list. Someone must like that stuff.
