With news of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate (they need to fix that fucking title) and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon both being pushed back into 2013, the rest of the year seems rather lackluster for the 3DS.
It doesn't help that, by almost every indication, New Super Mario Bros 2 seems to be too short, probably too easy, and sorely lacking in creativity and inventive design. That it firmly sits in the good category rather than touching the great category where last year's wonderful Super Mario 3D Land comfortably resides. Hopefully it will prove to be better than that once we start playing it in about a week, but that's incredibly disappointing if true.
Paper Mario: Sticker Star is coming November 11th, otherwise the only Nintendo releases to look forward to later this year are a DS Pokemon sequel and a Professor Layton game that was released in Feb 2011 in Japan. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to eventually play the Layton game, sometime after I play the Last Specter. But more is needed here.
Now you would think that this would be the perfect time for Capcom to finally release Monster Hunter Tri G. There's a void for a 3D action/adventure in this upcoming frame, Code of Princess looks cool but doesn't fulfill that exactly. However Capcpom is run by morons, so that is nothing more than wishful thinking at the moment.
It seems highly unlikely that Nintendo of America could somehow overcome their characteristic ineptitude and move Fire Emblem up as a late 2012 release, as a response to these developments. We haven't heard any word about it yet, perhaps Atlus releases Etrian Odyssey IV in North America by the end of the year. Both games strictly catering to fans of RPGs only.
It's not the biggest deal for me personally because I still have a bunch of DS and 3DS games to play. I haven't picked up Resident Evil: Revelations yet. So a lean remainder of the year release-wise would benefit both those things, as well as presumably bolster 2013.
I had 800 coins. I was trying to save up for the game and watch. A lil digging through used stock netted me 9 codes. Not a single one was used by the original owner. I got the nunchuk and have 250 coins left over.
Nicalis seriously needs to die, there is no reason a company can draw out a simple release like Nightsky and Cave Story + this long. As far as the 3DS it looks like Adventure Time and Epic Mickey as the year end closers unless Japan drops the "I KNOW WHAT MY SHIT IS WORTH" attitude and gives us Soul Hackers, Rune/Etrian 4, Rocket Slime 3, or Monster Hunter Tri.
