Probably Rad Racer. I don't remember it being very impressive, just headachey.
With all the this buzz about 3d image games lately, I think it might be interesting to see how many different ones people had as their first experience. For me it was back when I was a runt circa 1983 when I played the arcade game SubRoc-3D. I didn't think the game itself was anything special but the effect was awesome.
So what did you play first (talking just about 3d like with a Virtual Boy or 3d glasses game, not 3d as in polygon graphics)?

Missile Defense 3D on the Master System with those rad Sega Scope glasses. I bought the awful Space Harrier 3D for it too. Zaxxon 3D wasn't so hot either but it was kinda smooth for a SMS game.
Mine would have been NES and SMS as well I think, although the actual head piece for SubRoc-3D looks familiar.
I assume you played the domestic one with the red/blue glasses. In Japan it supported the Famicom 3D System. It's a shame that never came out here.Originally Posted by epmode
I thought Space Harrier 3D was quite cool (mostly because it was pretty much the trippiest home game ever at the time) although the lack of hardware scaling has made 8-bit rail shooters like that age. Missile Defense 3D is the one that really holds up nicely in gameplay.Originally Posted by raystorm

Space Harrier 3D had a really, really bad framerate. I liked the game, but even at the time I was like "Damn that's a low framerate."
I think my first was Zaxxon 3D. I had most of the SMS 3D games, sans Outrun 3D.
I had the SMS glasses. They were awesome, minus the fact they were huge on my head and not comfortable. 3D has come a long way, but I feel those really were ahead of their time
Sega's Holosseum!
Never played a non-rental copy of Rad Racer back in the old days, and lol Master System. Sega did not exist for me outside of arcades until Sonic, as it happens.
