That's pretty typical Japan. I saw many times where teachers or students were overworked to the point where they completely broke down and end up in the hospital but as soon as they're back it's expected that the go right back to doing what broke them in he first place.

Truth. And from meeting him at NYCC and watching him interact with his fans I can confirm that he is a funny and nice guy.

He isn't wrong. Those gems were like half the reason why the game tanked. The version I played without the gems was fun.
I don't doubt that he's a great guy, but he needed to concede and allow the game to be played without, and he didn't.
