But I don't even think that would be hard. SF honestly didn't make me (or you with the exception of one scene) feel much of anything. Except incredulous, but I don't think that's what they were going for. I will give a nod to the beheading scene for being pretty bad-ass.

And yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if, pound for pound, Serbian has more outrageous content than just about anything. But that's probably due to them having a checklist of edgy material they wanted to get through.

I couldn't pinpoint it before, but now that I've given it some thought, I'd say the movie felt like it was far more concerned with offending the audience than being truly menacing.

I have a buddy that is into disturbing films in general with emphasis on Japanese stuff, and for the most part this is how I feel about the stuff. Ok, So you just filmed some stuff that is "very disturbing" by conventional standards. Great job, now work on having a coherent plot, good dialog, and cinematography that is worth a shit, THEN I might give a fuck about why this disturbing stuff is happening and who it is happening to.

  3. This got a release date.

October 25th on Blu and DVD.

    Apparently it's cut some.

  4. This movie was boring. Seriously. I literally saw every single thing coming. cumming? haha You're just sitting there waiting for the next "shocking" thing to be delivered to your eyeballs.

The beheading while fucking looked great and was a cool scene, I'll give it that. The idea that this is supposed to have some sort of deep cultural resonance is hilarious though. Newborn Porn? Really? So stupid.

  5. You should read some interviews with the director.

He definitely has a point of view and has executed a realization of it.

Whether it's effective or not is up for debate, but it has a meaning.

Especially the "fucked from birth" aspect

  6. I understand that, and I have read his interviews. The film needs to be great before I buy into the bs explanation. I'll be looking for his next film, but I'm not ready to call him a brilliant director.

I'm also drunk before I head off to some awards show so I am replying to crazy old ass posts.
