  3. Once you get past the beta (repeat: beta) glitches, it plays fine on consoles - feels even smoother than BC2. DICE said retail will look different than the beta - they had to compress stuff to 1gb. Full game is on 2 360 disc's (ie: 14-17 gb). Full game on consoles also ships with an optional HD install packet.

    Rush probably works better with the console's 24 players over the clusterfuck of PC's 32. There is no substitute for 64 player conquest though. Ill upgrade my PC in 2 or 3 years and play the real deal then but itll be fine on my 360 in the meantime.

    I could already tell the classes are going to be the most balanced of any BF game. Removing direct vehicle destruction (c4) from Recon was the correct move. Finally the heavyweapon class has some vehicle destructibility with C4. They finally completely fixed the horrible 3d spotting of old. The gunplay is so deep (for a single simple example) you now have to be conscious of muzzle flash if you play like I do (on the map outskirts or sneaking around enemy territory). The entire gunplay system has shifted towards the hardcore (having to choose only 1 between flash suppressors, noise suppressors, or heavy barrels is just one example) - this is welcome.

    We got an army of people buying the game so we wont ever be stuck playing with random idiots. Add Destro777 on battlelog and join the team.

    A beta of a game that releases in one month is not a real beta, regardless of what the developer claims. Can't tell you how many times I've seen people saying exactly that who are then COMPLETELY SHOCKED when the game is released in an equally terrible state.

  7. hell, the Modnation Racers beta came out 6 months before release and the final release had every single problem the beta did.

    "old build" and "it's a beta" 3 weeks before release are the last refuge of a gamer in denial.

  8. EA and Dice are a lil bit bigger and BF3 is pretty high profile though. I say playable in December.

    We'll see. I played every single Battlefield beta - every one. 2142 beta was particularly horrible - retail ruled. For one, this BF3 Beta has been sitting in MS+sony cert since week 1 of Sept. Meaning its from august at the latest. Two, this is the first big budget DICE Battlefield game shipping in a holiday window. Scheduling tight, things are crunched. Three - DICE games famously ship with a record number of bugs. This is nothing new.

    Playable in December sounds about right. Game/weapon balance? Summer 2012 probably. Regardless aint no other online FPS touching this game for the foreseeable future.

    * The 3D spotting icons has been tweaked to better match the target’s visibility. Icons will show frequently less on mostly obscured targets.
    * Fixed issue with crosshair disappearing after round transition.
    * Fixed issue with crosshair disappearing after trying to deploy while the countdown timer still active.
    * Squad list now shows specializations chosen, VOIP activity and dead squad mates.
