Thread: Transfering dvd collection to hard drives

  1. Disc Transfering dvd collection to hard drives

I have somewhere around 450 dvds and was thinking of getting rid of a good portion of them. Is ripping my dvds to an external hard drive a good option? Is it even worth the time and the money to do this?

  4. Also DVD Decrypter since not all DVDs have DRM software.

  5. Bow long does it take on average to rip a movie?

  6. Fuck this phone.

  7. Not long, maybe 10-20 minutes? I haven't tried on my new computer, but even my old AMD Opteron was quick.

  8. Just remember, you fuck up one dvd, you can buy it again. You fuck up a hard drive, you'll want to commit suicide.

  9. Those are for reals words of wisdom. If you can make a cheap-o server with a few TBs of data running on RAID you'll be happier. Or just not give as much a shit. I tend to follow the latter and it's only bitten me in the ass about twice.
