Black Swan

Saw this last night. Holy shit, it was intense. Awesome in every way.

The movie was about Nina becoming both swans. It had nothing to do with her mother. Her 'killing herself' was to fulfill the destiny of the white swan. If... she killed herself. Thomas says "What did you do to yourself?" Not something more direct, like, "you're bleeding!"

I'm leaning towards "she didn't kill herself" simply on the pure physical impossibility of her being able to dance the entire second act with a large glass shard in her abdomen... especially without any male dancers feeling it during a lift.

But evidence for both cases exists, so it's tough to call. We see her imagine that she has injuries that she actually doesn't have all throughout the film. We also see her get so in to the role that she imagines herself physically becoming the characters...So when the character dies in the narrative she could very well imagine dieing herself.

Yet the movie also shows that when Nina does something to Meg Griffin, she was doing it to herself in reality. For example, Nina imagines that Meg is going down on her when in reality Nina is just rubbing herself off. So Nina stabbing herself in the abdomen could have been real...I use the physical impossibility as the tie breaker.
