Ok, basically what I thought, but I can kinda see how it ties in with most of the themes in the movie. Seems like a general truth to me though.
humanity of man, imo; basically, how cruel/base/evil we are...and yet how we are also ashamed of our own brutality and in awe of our own humanity; HUGE indictment of war, that final scene...our weak, pathetic insistence on our differences, which leads to war, pales in comparison to the common humanity that binds us. How sad (and that scene had me tearing up first time I saw it) that we focus on our differences/make war when life is so short and we could be so much more

Great pick Anthony!
That final scene was phenomenal and was the perfect way to end the film. Douglas was strong throughout, and so was George Macready.
Great pick. Loved it. That court room scene was phenomenal. And Douglas was outstanding.
