I think there are plenty of "hardcore" fans of media that are respectful. But there are so many assholes (hardcore or otherwise) that feel entitled to whatever it is that they think they want and I think it's awful when creators give into that kind of shit.

I am not sure where you guys are getting this impression of Harada from. Is it an interview he gave somewhere? Was it something he said on Twitter? Was it some panel you attended at GDC or something?

I am one of the few people who have met both Katsuhiro Harada and the guy who calls himself "Razor" Ramon (and I'm not talking about Scott Hall) and I can honestly say that Harada was cool/gracious/funny and "Razor" was a loud, obnoxious asshole and one of the first things out of his mouth was "I hope Nick dies from germs". But hey, some people find that kind of shit cool, so who am I to judge.

Harada on Twitter generally comes across as a decent guy who doesn't suffer fools. But unlike the DOA guy he doesn't waste energy saying like "DOA is shit". He has pointed out the DLC differences between Tekken's and Capcom's models but it never came off as dickish to me. Just honest.
