Thread: NHL 2010-2011 Season Thread

  1. Yeah they stomped us 3-1 during the season series. Last night they said after our game that we could get in if Dallas lost outright in regulation (not enough points with one game left then) or if they won in a shootout last night. Ummm.....two points is two points. I think they got their line messed up. If we can take 1 point from tomorrows game we're fine. I'm not assuming Dallas is going to lose tomorrow.

  2. I knew Rinne was killing it last night, but man, I checked his stat line in the paper this morning and turns out he had 44 saves on 45 shots. MVP of the team this year for sure.

If Nashville finishes fourth, maybe Rinne will get some consideration for the Vezina. Thomas and Rinne have basically been #1 and #2 in goals against and save percentage all year.

  3. What a day. NYR in the playoffs.

    Up yours, Cow.

  4. LOL

  5. Preds blew it last night. Their last chance to secure home ice advantage and they lose to the Blues 2-0. Now it all comes down to the Chicago Detroit game to determine where we will rank. Chicago has to lose the game for the Predators to stay in the 5 spot. At this point though, I am not sure if they would be better off playing Anaheim or Detroit in the first round. I know they dominated Detroit for most of the series, but not so sure about the Ducks.

  6. I guess this is as good a place as any for my first post.

In the first round I'm supporting Boston. Since my Leafs missed the playoffs (yet again) I'll cheer for whoever Montreal is playing.

  7. Sounds like a plan.

Hard to believe Chicago is in the position of either having to win or hoping the Stars lose.

  8. Wow, 3 goals just got scored in about 2 minutes in the Chicago/Detroit game!

    Fuck French Canada!

Also, for the Tim Thomas haters:

Thomas ends the season with a .9366 save percentage, passing Dominik Hasek's regular season record of .9382.

This is even more of an accomplishment when you consider that Boston was giving up 32.7 shots a game (2nd most in the league).

  10. Crazy moment in the Ducks/Kings game last night:

Blatant cross check with the stick from behind that sends Selanne face-first into the boards. The ref is standing like 5 feet away but there's no call.

Selanne with his first career fighting major at age 40!
