I was thinking about reading this VERY long body of work, so simply question, should I?
I enjoyed Planet Hulk and World War Hulk and have read nothing since.

NO. Read the associated wikipedia entries*. Or do what I'm doing and start reading the old Marvel Graphic Novels. (the Mike Mignola-pencilled Doctor Doom / Doctor Strange book is AMAZING)
Bendis Marvel has that hot garbage smell going on. The kind you get in the big city on a hot day!

Awesome! I got a few of 'em halfway by accident (cheap!), but I'm slowly picking up the good ones.
"Dracula: A Symphony in Moonlight & Nightmares" has some realllly nice watercolor illustrations in it, and "Daredevil: Love and War" is a rad-ass spiritual sequel to "Elektra: Assassin". Miller/Sienkiewicz!
"Spider-Man: Spirits of the Earth" is really nice, too, some Charles Vess action.
