We got sick of playing other people's games or going to game night at some grubby Magic: The Gathering store, so we got:
Ascension
Dominion
Pandemic
Stone Age
Thunderstone
Thunderstone: Wrath of Elements
I remember a thread here a while back about board games, but not that much fuss over it. The relatively new "deck building" genre is really great for ex-CCG/TCG players, and seems to be a hit with the casual players (read: girls) in the group as well. Games that initially appeal to the whole group like euro-staples Carcassone, Catan, and Agricola often turn pretty cutthroat with competitive players. The deck building games let players do their own thing a bit more successfully, so the newer people don't feel so picked on.
