I agree it was an average season. Finale was great though.

It was definitely a slow burn to the ending.

Patricia Arquette is now scary... poor Nucky.

I completely missed the start of season 5, it's been on for 3 weeks!

and it's only an eight episode season. You better get on it.

I fell asleep three different times watching the first episode. I made it through the fourth time and fell asleep trying to watch the second episode.

I really don't care how Nucky came to be—he has never been the most interesting character on the series in general. Between Jimmy, Copone, Harrow, Luciano and a host of other more interesting people. That was the criticism of Nucky in general as a "gangster". The stuff with Chalky has been pretty solid.

The whole season was one long, harsh toke. Eight episodes of Nucky's collapse. Nothing really surprising, but I do like how they ended it. The guy and girl they found for young Nucky and Gillian were perfect.
