2013 release date and a basically all text trailer?
Some announcement.
If it weren't for Duke Nukem Forever, this would have a real chance at being the longest time between thread creation and game release. But this has all the potential in the world, so your cross your fingers for the next three years.
2013 release date and a basically all text trailer?
Some announcement.
Guillermo del Toro is working with Volition on a video game called Insane.
And that's all the information there is. A game announcement shouldn't be able to be summed up in 13 words, 3 of which are the name of a movie director with zero track record in gaming.

Volition is a great developer, so I'm interested. Well, I would be if it was closer to release and we had more info, but we don't. So I'm not going to start caring until 2012.
I can't help but think that such long periods between game announcements and their releases end up hurting the PR for the game.
The mood-piece they've got makes me think Frictional would be a good fit for this. They'll probably release Amnesia 2 about the same time and get completely overshadowed, though.
James
The difference between this thread and the DNF thread is the other thread is for a game that will eventually get released and this one is not.
Always bet on Duke, never bet on Del Toro
If you hate the other games that have done this, then you should be against the "in name only" approach, as that's what every single one of them has been. We have yet to actually see one where the guy whose name is plastered on the box had any more input beyond "It would be cool if you used the Wiimote to throw a ball and, like, knock stuff over."
So I'd like to see the opposite, dude actually get knee-deep in making the thing. Just to see what actually happens if someone does that.
You should really stop getting bent out of shape over something that barely ever happens.I'm sick and tired of directors thinking videogames are 'interactive movies' and thus, they're *perfect* for the job.
And if we're going to head down this road, Boom Blox and Undying are both great and have directors/authors directly attached to them. What's left to whine about, that stupid King Kong game?
