Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS4)

I'm more disappointed by how stupid the characters look.
I would prefer to have the original pre-rendered backgrounds in real-time with new character models based on the CG cutscene versions of the original.

I have a feeling that this wouldn't be released any time soon if they couldn't release a part of it in the next year or so. Heck, maybe it'll be "Buy FFXV and get the 1st chapter free". Still looking forward to it, the new video made it look really cool. Episodic releases is way worse for SE than it is for people buying the game because no one will buy the last release. Even so, the worst thing they could do right now is FFXV it and listen to the screaming public. Criticism and sales are one thing but trying to listen to what people want instead of just trying to make an interesting product is the worst idea the company that makes Final Fantasy has had since The Spirits Within.

releasing it in episodes probably protects them some on being wrong if the game flops for being too different.

I'm guessing they will be by orginal disk or story position and the first episode will end at leaving Midgar.

I hope they use more resorces to develop the world. The enemies of Midgar never felt like much of anything. Like 1 ninja village.

Everything after Midgar felt week in that regard. Nothing was as fleshed out as that mega city. And it never really showed the wealthy areas up top.

7 in hindsight was pretty poorly implemented if you compare what was implied to what was actually shown.

I'm okay with the remake having multiple parts if each installment really does have as much content as a full game. It absolutely worked for Trails in the Sky and it could work for VII.

Framerate issues aside, the combat looks awesome.
