Don't let the age of this film put you off, as the humor and direction of this movie still feels very modern. It was way ahead of it's time. The whole film is beautifully shot and acted with a ton of unique characters.Loved One is a 1965 black comedy film about the funeral business in Los Angeles, which is based on The Loved One: An Anglo-American Tragedy (1948), a short satirical novel by Evelyn Waugh. It was directed by British filmmaker Tony Richardson and the screenplay – which also drew on Jessica Mitford's book The American Way of Death (1963)[1] – was written by noted American satirical novelist Terry Southern and British author Christopher Isherwood.
I'd really advise against watching the trailer as well, it's a big pile of 60's trailer shit that doesn't portray the actual film well at all.
So it's been over a year since I posted this. You motherfuckers missed the fuck out.
