Winrar can open ISO files and see whats inside, even extract to regular files.
If you open the iso and there isnt a TS_VIDEO folder, its not a Video-DVD.
if the image is from an actual dvd, your player sucks

Some couldn't read either.
Thankfully DVD players are like $30 bucks and most of the early ones have shit the bed a long time ago. Hell, I saw a Blu-ray player the other day for $55.

I do. Got a blu-ray burner for christmas.
Its really hard to get any HD to play at other peoples houses, but nearly everyone has a blu-ray player now.
Plus I can back up my media collection on a dozen or so BDR-25s.
