Thread: Burning a image file so it can be played on a dvd player.

  1. Burning a image file so it can be played on a dvd player.

Downloaded a bunch of discs last night (video) for a friend that all came as disc image files. I assume if I just use Image Burn and put them on a disc they're still data discs and won't play on a dvd player. So what do I need to do to make them work?

  2. Well, first, you'll need to tell people what kind of disc image they are. They is more than one type, and some have different methods of burning them properly.
WARNING: This post may contain violent and disturbing images.

  3. All the properties say is that they're .iso's.

If you need more tell me how. This is not my forte.

  4. Well, first you have to heat the physical media DVD-R disc somehow before you put it in the drive; this "primes" the disc, and makes it ready to use. Not enough to damage the disc, mind you! Just enough to turn the center band slightly blue.

  5. Do I need Monster SATA cables for maximum burning compatibility?

  6. What are you, simple? No! You never, ever need Monster Cables. For anything.

Now, once you've got your water heated up to a rolling boil, stir in your H: drive.

  7. Can you come over and show me how?

  8. True story: I could absolutely walk you through this right now, but I'd have to use the word emulate in a proper explanation so instead go fuck yourself.

  9. Good for you.

Got it figured out. Thanks for being useless again TNL.
