Locked Threads

If you click anywhere horizontal of the box to close threads (on the quick replay area) you will check the box and the thread will close. That means if you're quickly trying to submit a post in your own thread, and you click one pixel above the "post quick reply" button, you will check the box to close your thread even though that tiny box is all the way across the screen.

So yeah, that's probably why there's been so much of it.
