Image attachment suggestion

So... if you try to upload a picture that you already uploaded the board says "no" then links you to the thread where it is posted. This is not helpful if the thread has ten thousand posts. How about changing it so it links to the post that the image was originally posted in? This is considerably more user friendly.

I'm not a coding expert, but knowing how message boards work, this might be something hard-coded into vBulletin that might be a bitch to change. People who make fomrum software enjoy making it a chore to simply edit the visuals in skins, they get even more pleasure out of making everything else even harder to modify.

If the search that checks to see if an image already exists returns enough data, though, it might be something possible to change.

How hard would it be to make it so that a link posted into the Insert Image box is automatically attached? It would make things easier/quicker and then we wouldn't have to worry about the lazy assholes who hotlink all the time.
