I voted for Dune 2 instead. That game basically lives in my Nomad, which lives in the bathroom.

Not a lot of upsets. Sonic Adventure beating out Jet Set Radio seems like the most blatant case of popular trumping the obviously more visually artistic game. Tomb Raider over NiGHTS and Halo 2 over both Psychonauts and JSRF as well.
Fuck 1943 beating Life Force.
I'm amazed that three Panzer Dragoon games were chosen.
Thank God Portal beat Call of Duty.
I think After Burner over Fantasy Zone was kind of bullshit too, but I realize FZ isn't that well known in west.
Atari 2600 Pacman winning anything other than the worst color scheme award is hilarious too, but Atari games weren't known to be pretty anyway and Pac Man is a big name.
Yeah, some of the ones I wanted to bitch about were just obviously popularity contests.
I would have thought that the type of people that would vote for Sonic Adventure would vote for Jet Set Radio instead. That one genuinely surprised me. But I guess there's a lot of kids out there just voting for "Sonic" who might not even be particularly familiar with either game.
You can't bitch too much about public votes, I guess, it's not exactly supposed to be expert opinion, and despite that there are some genuinely interesting choices on there that deserve to be there.
ESP Galuda should have won over Gradius, otherwise I'm pretty ok with the winners.
You think Galuda is visually more striking than Gradius V? I'd have to go with the public on that one, honestly, Gradius V looked fantastic.
