It probably would've happened in the US too.
I got bullied a lot in Middle School but not in High School. My dad always taught me to be tough and if it came down to it, he wanted me to be suited towards fighting. I haven't acted violently towards a person (at least not intending to cause actual physical harm) since I was 12 (though I was VERY close to hitting a fellow recruit with the butt of my M-16 in boot-camp). Violence should be a last resort in most cases, but the kid that got slammed here initiated and deserved what he got.
