what version of firefox are you using, Opaque?
The latest one is so buggy that I started to use Chrome. Even the new 4.0 beta is buggy as hell.
No luck with disable/re-enabling them but I can tell you more stuff:
1) Yes, I can see everyone's avatars and signatures, or at least I can find signatures one the forums with everything in them from normal text to images (i.e. Melf was who I just checked with).
2) I have a little white dot where my avatar should be and it still links to my profile.
3) The most interesting one is that where my signature should be there is a double arrow icon just like next to my name in that quote you did, the one that should take you to the original post. That's interesting because that image was what was replaced with my signature in that image I hosted in the first post, and now they've swapped places.

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
Everything is back as of right now.
Avatars don't matter this much.
I was less concerned with my avatar not being on my posts and more concerned with it being in every other post.
This is not a hard concept.
