Fisher Price toys are made to take abuse, so...a good thing?
I bought it for Mario.
Controller feels like a Fisher Price toy though.
No.
Downloading update...this thing is taking forever. I don't think it's supposed to be this long
Only you could spin it that way. It has a low resolution, single touch screen and no analog buttons at all, even the triggers. I'm pretty sure he isn't talking about its durability.
You mean his statement predicating not a matter of if it fails, but when it fails, and how that will lead to Nintendo going third party? You mean the same exact argument that happened back with the GameCube around these parts?
How its a statement not even steeped in any kind of analysis, but more of a hope that this thing tanks? Much like how gamers in particular doomsay the end of Nintendo, year for year, for over a decade now?
Yep, that's me ignoring stuff all right.

Updating Mario now, and this is taking forever
I like that I can see it on the pad though, so I can watch TV
But the controller is sort of uncomfortable for me. It feels cheap, and maybe I am used to the 360 pad, but it just feels bad
I watched someone streaming Mario for a bit and it actually looks kind of good. I'd buy it if it didn't require a whole new system I don't want.
Personally I don't have any qualms about the screen on the Pad. Looks fine. Better than 3DS (not as good as Vita though)
