Microsoft announced they sold 750,000 360s during essentially the same period (November 18-23). I'll be curious to see Sony's numbers, but that's not great news for Nintendo when you can't beat seven year-old hardware in performance or sales.

Pretty pleased with the Wii U so far. NSMB U is a blast, and I just picked up Nano Assault Neo because it looks rad (confirmed) and I wanted to help support indie developers on the Wii U eShop. Being able to play with just the Gamepad is good stuff.

Re: Nano Assault Neo, so far I've played through the first world/cluster - which consists of 3 stages plus the boss - and am enjoying it a great deal. Visuals are superb and the Super Mario Galaxy-like planetoids are very neat. By default of being the only TNLer with the game as of yet, I'm #1 on our leaderboards!

I just wish there was a toggle button for the game pad screen. I don't want it on all the time and I don't want to go through 5 steps to turn it off when I can't even keep it off while using the pad. It's a battery draining bitch.

Microsoft isn't really in bad financial shape, I've been waiting for the stock to drop to around $25/share to get in.

I have no idea why you'd want to get in when every market where they make money is in danger. Windows 8 isn't doing well, the Surface isn't doing well, their phone OS is an also-ran, and the 360 is ending its lifecycle. They're going to need to quickly find some more ideas to steal.

I made a Ron Swanson Mii and played Mario challenge modes using him. It was incredible.

Also the Wii U is pretty good I'm really looking forward to more stuff from it, hopefully it gets some niche stuff though. We'll see! To not be excited about a system at launch really doesn't surprise me from anyone. There's really no new features to bring out, not like before we had PSN, Live and... well Live and PSN, so even just catching up is fine.

Processor Power being slower right now isn't surprising, because the beginning of every generation games are ugly as hell and run worse. What you see right now is not what you get, and the higher end GPU will certainly be useful later on.

I dunno, a lot of the bitching from people here about it is pretty insignificant. It's a fine little system, with the great advantage of being able to play on a pad while someone else uses the TV assuming the game doesn't require both. Neat!

This is year seven of this generation, not the beginning. Games running on major engines should run flawlessly.
