Command and Conquer:Generals/Zero Hour not working with my new PC

Anyone else ever have trouble loading Zero Hour onto a Windows 7 64-bit machine?

It loads up the title screen, and then shuts itself down. I've googled up some solutions, but none of them seem to do anything.

I know it's a very old game, and even EA doesn't seem to support it anymore, but I'd really like to play it again, especially to see what it's like to play it with all the graphics enhancements turned on, which I was never able to do before.

Have you tried running it as admin or compatibility mode? Also, this is why the Virtual XP makes things so much easier.

Tried all that and then some...still not working. Ah well...I probably would've just played it for a couple hours and then shelved it for another 5 years or so anyway.
