I don't have contempt for Microsoft. What I'm saying is that MS views the consumer not only as a data mine to be tapped, but also as a naughty child to be restrained lest they misuse the things they buy in ways they haven't been granted digital permission for.

The problems with having to connect to the net every 24 hours, you have to have a fucking Kinetic on or you can't play the whole bullshit with streaming shit like Netflix etc. Why would MS even think that this shit would be widely accepted as a standard?
