I don't think anyone actually believes Tomb Raider 2 will stay exclusive for long anyways. 6 months maybe.

How much money does one have to give to really make it worth it for the third party? Not only is SE/CD not going to make any money off of Sony players for the game itself, but I'd imagine there is probably some DLC planned that they will furthermore not get any money from Sony players. And is this really a game that people would by an Xbone for? I guess it can be seen as another notch for MS, but that still doesn't change the fact that the PS4 is the more powerful console, and from a gaming perspective that's kind of important.

If you're worried about power wait for the PC port. The differences between a simultaneous release on PS4 and XBO will be minimal regardless.

Why? If you can pay to guarantee that your system will continue to have a cinematic adventure game for a lineup which is missing an exclusive in that popular genre, it could be a great investment. It's not like Sony will just go, "Oh, you didn't release a game on PS4 so we're never going to let you help us make a bunch more money ever again."

I didn't mean Sony; I meant the consumers. If I am forced to miss a main entry in a series, my interest in the next one goes way down.

Both 2014 lineups suck, and in 2015 it'll be a non-issue. The console with a less awful lineup to this point is getting massacred to the point that there are multiple $400 bundles on their way when the hardware just dropped to $400 in June.

But Sony has gas, and are some of these exclusives or timed exclusives enough gas to push MS past Sony? I'm just curious. I know for some people it is enough, but on the whole I just don't see it.

EDITED: Granted, I have no valid opinion on the subject, because the next 2 games I am eager to get are The Golf Club and NHL 15, and all I have been playing for the last few months are MLB The Show 14 and BF4 and couldn't be happier.
