He was involved on the actual game development side. Somehow he seems to have survived working with both Molyneaux and Rare without going completely to shit.

Yeah he's been around since then in various roles, he also managed MS first party studios for a while and did a decent job although towards the end of the 360 he kind of dropped the ball but it's hard to say whether Don Mattrick had any role in that given their Kinect focus at the time.

The thing is that the PS4 despite selling better is, at best, no more compelling.

It's just an awful generation.
