Thread: Dishonored (PC, PS3, 360)

The pre-order garbage isn't as odious as it appears. Dishonored actually randomizes which powers and abilities can be acquired in each playthrough, and the bonuses merely guarantee the presence of certain ones. Not that it makes it any less retarded - they've done perhaps the worst job possible in explaining all of this - but it really is less terrible than it looks.

It was a pass at $60, but for $48 I'm signed up.

    This might be something special.

  4. Has anyone read anything about a 3rd person option for this game? That may be a dealbreaker for me. I'm interested but unless I can Redbox it to see if I can either play in 3rd person/deal with first person only I may skip it.

  5. From the Rock Paper Shotgun review:

Dishonored is the tale of a city. And what a city it is. I haven’t wanted to study and explore a place as much as this since Thief introduced its marvellous warren of secrets, and it’s not only in its superb creation of an urban space both fantastical and relatable that Arkane’s game brings Looking Glass’s work to mind. Dishonored is almost certainly the finest stealth game I’ve played since the dawn of The Metal Age.
Yeah, I'm going to buy this.

  6. I'm in more of a "shoot everything" mood right now, but when stealth sounds good again, I'll be all over it. Dishonored has been getting some fantastic reviews.

  7. wow at the reviews.. I haven't paid attention to the game at all until just a few days ago after seeing some gameplay vids. I hope to read some positive pc impressions and I'll get this game for sure but not this week as I want to finish up Borderlands 2.

  8. The keys are up at GMG if you bought it with them. Preloading on steam right now.

  9. RPS put up a defense of Dishonored's total playtime: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012...onored-length/

The complaint is that it is technically possible to brute force your way through the entire game in 7 hours or so, as opposed to the 20+ being talked about prior to release.

Basically, set the game to Hard and turn off the objective markers.

  10. I read almost everywhere that this game is too easy on the default difficulty. I will probably skip right to hard.

It looks like this is getting killer reviews, though. I'm psyched.
