Thread: Trackball Opinions

  1. My opinion is that trackballs are pretty cool.
I prefer thumb trackballs over the fingering type.

I've been using this style of trackball from Logitech for years. This is their newest version. I use it for games and everything. Can't stand using a mouse anymore.

  3. That would be perfect for a living room PC.

  4. It pretty much is. I highly recommend it.

  5. It's marble mice for me, specifically a Logitech Trackman Marble. The lack of a scroll wheel doesn't really bother me. Moving a regular mouse around a pad can simply GTFO. Regular mice are deader to me than the 56K modem.

The M570 looks cool, but the trackball on the thumb side is something that doesn't seem like it'd work for me. On FPS games I'll map the melee to NumPad+ for a quick hop off the left thumb button.

  6. I've never had a problem with any of the Logitech trackballs.

    That's the best I got.

  7. Logitech FTW. I use this one:

    (wtf at those prices though)

I had a Microsoft one before this and it used to get funk all up on the sensors and screw up. This one I've been using for a few years now and never had a problem.

That is the exact same one I liberated from an unused computer setup a couple days ago. It's pretty awesome.

This is the one true answer. Been using this and its precursor for like 15 years.
