Co-worker saw an advanced screening of this the other day and said it was the pits with some exceptions sprinkled throughout the movie. The gist she gave was that it was utterly devoid of any sort of humor or levity, the characters are weak and make constant bad decisions and generally lacks the spirit of the original. Essentially it's everything that Cabin in the Woods made fun of. She said the special effects are amazing though.
