I have probably been doing 90% side quests and 10% actually advancing the story. I'm like 23 hours into the game and have BARELY DONE ANYTHING. I'm in that big area under Colony 6 where IT'S REYN TIME! calls Shulk a little bitch and says he's a good for nothing without his ~ friends ~ .

Oh, alright. It's the opposite on my end. Dropped a lot of the sidequests because I just want to see the story move forward and I got tired of the same template of "Hi, I'm an NPC and I want a bunch of things from you, and then some...and then some...I'm not done talking".

I got Melia about 10 hours ago and feel like her magic can be pretty strong, but only when using her Ether Defense dropping skill and she hits 4 to 5000 in damage. Would be cool to have a magic user, she's just hard to keep alive, even with Health Up III Gems.

Favourite line so far.

Huh, weird. My sidequests go like this: "Hi, we know you're OCD and you get really upset at the thought of missing something, so why don't you run around and kill 5 bunnits for us, and then come back to us, but while you're at it you might as well kill 3 Ponios and get some neck meat, but there's something up on a cliff you need to go get and don't forget to grab that shiny red thing for us, and you might as well find our stupid kid who keeps trying to jump in the river by mining something that might not exist."

So true. This was the game that (at least temporarily) killed my rpg ocd. Didn't upgrade the village at all. Stopped doing quests after colony 6 (but started doing some briefly at one point later on). Only unlocked one additional skill tree. Maybe on new game+.

Still immensely satisfied, though. And yeah, Reyn and Riki have all the best lines. My favorite is when you have the healer, Reyn, and someone else in the party and the healer heals the third person. Reyn goes "Sharla! wot about me?"

I'm only about 8 - 10 hours into it, though I've noticed something weird. I got asked to kill one or two of the big monsters that have specific names, but I already killed them before I was asked about the quest. Do they ever come back? I know I called the Lake Masomething way before I was asked to.

Save and load your game from the in-game menu. I did the same thing and couldn't get either to show up until i did that.

I feel like this game splits me into two completely different ways I play games. I'll either be the OCD type who will do every quest or a good majority of them and take my time beating this over the course of the entire year, or I'll get fed up of all the tedium and just rush through the whole thing, underleveled.

I think it is going to be a mix of the two, sadly.
