  2. Larry Jones has announced that this will be his final season in the bigs. I'm sure he'll hit about 20 homers against the Mets in his farewell season.

  3. that there is why i avoid trampolines. that would totally happen to me.

  4. The Mets are reportedly shopping Stupid Big Pelf (Mike Pelfrey to the rest of you) and he actually has a non-guaranteed deal for this season. If they can't trade that big goof then I say dump him ...or ask him to practice on one of these..

  6. Here is the Miami Marlins fabulous home run monstrosity thing in all its glory.

  7. Totally forgot that the season actually starts tomorrow with the Mariners vs Athletics playing a two game series in Japan (then both teams to back to Cali for a few more ST games). First game airs at 6am. I guess I'll wake up to coffee and baseball tomorrow morning.

  8. The Wall Street Journal just reported that Magic Johnson and his group are the winning bidders for the Dodgers to the tune of 2 BILLION bucks.

Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports that the Dodgers have reached an agreement to be sold to Magic Johnson's bidding group.

Dennis K. Berman of the Wall Street Journal reports that the sale price is $2 billion, which shatters the record for a professional sports franchise. Mark R. Walter is the controlling partner in the group, while longtime MLB and NBA executive Stan Kasten is also involved. The other finalists for the team included a group led by Mets' minority owner and billionaire hedge-fund manager Steve Cohen and a group led by St. Louis Rams' owner Stan Kroenke.

  9. Did they get all the land around it with the other $600M?
