The problem Yoshi with any brand the DVD part kicks the bucket way too soon, and then all you have is a nice TV. Only my experience but I'd say get a nice 1080 TV and a Blu Ray player.
I'm planning to get my daughter a TV/DVD combo for Christmas. Does anyone have any experience with one? I'm looking for an LCD less than 20" and frankly am more interested in longevity than picture quality. She won't know the difference, and I don't want to have to buy her another one until she does. HDMI and/or component inputs are also a must so that I can hook a Roku up to it. Thanks for any input you may have.

I get the impression that all of those combo units are low-end junk, as they have always been in the past.
I wouldn't even bother with the DVD player.
If she's old enough to handle optical discs without ruining them, I'm sure she'll be fine with streaming stuff.
